Congratulations to Nesta So!
Nesta was awarded both the Graduating Student and the People’s Choice awards for her presentation, A Hotel Story: Unexpecting the Expected | The NORMAL School. at the IIDA Puget Sound Campus Center’s Marked Up Scholarship competition on May 16, 2014.
Her project, from a recently completed capstone studio, illustrates how irony activates a space to create a dialog between the space and its occupants. You can see the complete interior design project – a thought-provoking and fun concept – in the BC Library Media Center’s capstone thesis section.
They entered and WON the ARMSTRONG EARTH DAY sustainability contest–what we do about Sustainability?? Their entry was: WE PREPARE TO BECOME SUSTAINABLY FOCUSED INTERIOR DESIGNERS!!!
The Interior Design summer schedule is now posted online. This email provides information about one of those classes.
INDES 360 Intro To Rhinoceros
Meets: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:30-9:15pm
Instructor: John Passmore
COME LEARN TO MODEL USING RHINOCEROS THIS SUMMER!!!!
Rhinoceros is truly one of the preeminent software packages used in the design industry today. The software is used extensively in architecture, interior design, furniture design, industrial design, automotive design, boat design, among many others. The rendering engine Flamingo is used in conjunction with Rhino to generate extremely high quality rendered images of Rhino models.
This class will be a beginner’s introduction to the software as well as the rendering engine Flamingo! No experience necessary!
To a lesser extent, the class will also be used as an opportunity to discuss the digital revolution in design and the current revolution in digital fabrication. Rhinoceros plays a key role in the use of digital fabrication in the design industry today.
There are no prerequisites for this class. Students at any level are welcome. It is a true elementary introduction to the basics of the Rhinoceros modeling software and the Flamingo rendering engine.
If you are not a Bellevue College student, you need only to apply to the college and get your student status activated.
