Admission
When to arrive & how to check in:
1. When to arrive:
Current Immigration regulations allow newly admitted international
students to enter the United States
30 days before the quarter beginning date
indicated on your I-20 form (see section 5). We recommend our newly
admitted college students arrive in Bellevue at least one or
two weeks before
the quarter beginning date. An ESL student may arrive one week
before the beginning date of the quarter. Before you arrive in the US, please
arrange the following:
-
Housing:
You need to secure a place to stay and
inform the ISP office about the address, telephone number and
email where we can contact you. (If you made a host family arrangement
through one of the two private housing companies, be sure to give
them your flight schedule to arrange an airport pick-up.)
-
Medical Insurance:
BCC contracted medical
insurance may cover 30 days before the quarter beginning date.
2. Check-in process upon arrival:
As soon as you complete your travel arrangements, please
notify the International Student Programs office of your
arrival date and time.
Upon arrival in the U.S., please come to
the International Student Programs (ISP) office located on the 2nd
floor of the Student Services building on the BCC main campus.
Our normal office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday
through Friday. For directions to the campus, visit
