POSITION: Financial Services Manager, Ref #007160
Exempt, Full time
SALARY: $42,000 - $50,000 annually, DOE
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Services Manager reports to the Director of Administrative Services and provides financial and other closely related services in support of internal business operations. This position performs accounting assignments involving the preparation of financial statements and reports. This position will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to ensure that financial reports and records are accurate and timely.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or related field; plus one (1) year of full-time experience in accounting, budgeting and/or finance. Additional experience may substitute, year-for-year, for educational requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage accounting, budgeting and financial services functions.
- Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet development and word processing skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage accounting functions such as payables, receivables, reconciliations, petty cash and perform related record keeping.
- Prepare and analyze budget status reports; checking for accuracy, and reconciling discrepancies. Develop budget forecasts and provide advice and information.
- Prepares financial statements and reports. Provides professional accounting skills to prepare financial statements and reports by applying accounting principles to the analysis of revenues and expenditures. Monitors revenues and expenditures and provides reports to the Director of Administrative Services.
- Audit and process purchasing and travel documentation; allocate expenses to appropriate budgets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensures that monthly transfers of funds be prepared so that monies and expenses are allocated to correct accounts in order to maintain accurate information for management.
- Manage month-end and year-end activity by processing journal and budget entries.
- Manage annual closing tasks in addition to regular duties during fiscal year end close (June 30 until complete, approximately July 31st).
- Document procedures and business processes.
- Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis, special projects and provide general support as needed
- Stay current with changing government (GA, DIS, and OFM) policies.
- Cultivate relationships with college groups including the Budget Accounting and Reporting Counsel (BAR), attending quarterly meetings around the state when required.
