At the start of summer quarter, July 1, 2014, interested community members will find an enhanced course listing both online and in the classroom that includes:
- Fundamentals of Technical Writing
- Fundamentals of Document Design
- Professional Editing
- Usability Workshop
- Creating Style Guides
- Developing Web Content
- Authoring Help
- Fundamentals of Marketing Communications
- Process Flowchart Documentation

In addition to individual classes, BC Continuing Education will begin offering an all-inclusive Technical Writing Certificate course in which students are given a year to complete and master all technical writing course material. This new and innovative competency-based program employs a course mentor approach and is targeted to working professionals with a strong knowledge base of the material at hand, who are looking to expedite the certificate process. Students will receive badges as they progress through the course material and prove their competency in each subject and will receive a certificate upon overall completion.
The courses, taught by industry professionals, are in line with the standards set forth by the Society for Technical Communication (http://www.stc.org/), and all technical writing courses will apply towards a Technical Writing Certificate.
