Luncheon guests donate $168,000 to create new opportunities at BCC
BELLEVUE, WASH.– Guests at the Bellevue Community College Foundation’s Sixth Annual Luncheon April 20 contributed a total of $168,000 to support student scholarships and extraordinary programs at BCC.
The total is a 19 percent increase over the results from last year’s luncheon and 12 percent over this year’s goal.
More than 450 guests attended the event, which was held at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue. Wells Fargo was the Premier Corporate Sponsor.
Titled “Creating Opportunities,” the annual luncheon served as both a celebration of BCC’s connection to the community and as a way to attract new contributors.
“We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support at our luncheon today,” said Gaynor Hills, BCC Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the BCC Foundation. “These gifts will help give BCC the margin of quality that denotes a truly excellent educational program. They also will help us keep the doors of education open for up to 100 more students through scholarships.”
Since its inception the BCC Foundation has raised more than $20 million on behalf of Bellevue Community College. Through a combination of individual, foundation and corporate donations, the Foundation provides funding for scholarships, program enhancements and mini-grants for faculty and staff projects.
