Become money-wise at BCC Sept. 24

 

BELLEVUE, WASH.– If you are working toward financial fitness, attend the free Money Wise Women Forum on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Bellevue Community College.

 

The all-day conference is designed to educate and empower women and men in a variety of financial matters.

 

The opening session of the Forum, entitled “Achieving Financial Fitness,” will be presented by Marcia Brixey, founder of Money Wise Women. The lunchtime presenter will be inspirational speaker Sunny Kobe Cook, author of Common Things, Uncommon Ways and founder of Sleep Country U.S.A.

 

Participants also will be able to attend three of the following breakout sessions:

 

Developing a spending and debt reduction plan

Why your credit report and credit score are important

Building your wealth throughout your life

Retirement planning

Understanding the community property law

Protecting your family -- wills and estate planning

Protecting the people and things you love

Preparing for the unexpected with long-term care insurance

Making your mortgage work for you 

Goal setting for financial success and prosperity

Earn your worth: conquering the under-earning cycle

The Money-Wise Women Forum takes place from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Sept. 24 in Room 201 in the N Building on Bellevue Community College’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue). Participant check-in begins at 9 a.m.
