Laura Saunders named VP-Administrative Services

BELLEVUE, WASH.– Dr. Laura E. Saunders, of Seattle, has been named vice president-administrative services for Bellevue Community College (BCC).

Before joining BCC, Dr. Saunders served for 15 years as vice president for administration at Highline Community College.

Her earlier experience includes service as director of planning and capital budget at the University of Washington and as a staff member in the budget and planning office at The Pennsylvania State University and the office of the president at the University of California.

Dr. Saunders earned a Ph.D. in education from the University of California, Berkeley, and also holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Chicago and an undergraduate degree from Reed College.

She has been active in national higher education associations, serving as president of the Society for College and University Planning and president of the Association for Institutional Research.

Serving more than 35,000 students per year, Bellevue Community College is the third largest institution of higher learning in Washington State. BCC offers associate degrees, certificates and continuing education programs in the traditional arts, humanities and sciences, as well as information technology, telecommunications, business, health sciences, social sciences, educational development and numerous other professional and technical fields.
