Try out for BCC’s summer musical
BELLEVUE, WASH.– Open, public auditions for Bellevue Community College’s summer musical production, Working, will be held from 3 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 8, and 2 – 5 p.m. Saturday, June 10, in Carlson Theatre on BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, off 148th Ave. S.E.).
A comedy, Working is based on the book Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do by Studs Terkel, with songs by Stephen Schwarz, James Taylor and others.
Actors will be asked at the audition to present one monologue and one or two songs, preferably one up-tempo and one ballad, and may be asked to read from the script.. A musical accompanist will be provided.
Casting will be completed by June 12 by BCC Drama Instructor Tammis Doyle, who will direct the musical. Rehearsals will be held from 1 – 5 p.m. almost daily beginning June 27. Performances are scheduled for July 28 and 29.
All actors must enroll in BCC’s Drama 280 class.
