BCC Drama Dept. presents classic musical,

A Little Night Music, May 16-17, 21-24

 

BELLEVUE --The Bellevue Community College (BCC) Drama Department will present the Tony Award-winning musical, A Little Night Music, May 16-17 and 21-24.

Performances begin at 8 p.m. each day, with an additional matinee at 2 p.m. on May 24, in BCC’s Stop Gap Theatre, located in Building E on the south courtyard of BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.).

Tickets, at $12 ($10 students), may be purchased through Ticket Window, at www.ticketwindowonline.com.

The 1973-74 Broadway production of A Little Night Music, with music by composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, won Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Music and Lyrics, and Best Book.

The score includes the popular song, “Send in the Clowns.”

Set in 1900, A Little Night Music tells the story of a group of friends and their complicated romantic entanglements. All the men are current, previous, or prospective lovers of the beautiful actress, Desiree, and the other women are all united by their jealousy of her.

A Little Night Music will be directed by BCC Drama Instructor and Program Chair Tammis Doyle, with musical direction by BCC Music Instructor Julie Denninghoff.
