"How Nuclear Chemistry Helped the English Professor"
BELLEVUE, WASH. -- Baylor University lecturer Dr. C. Alton Hassell will appear at Bellevue Community College Feb. 11 to describe "How Nuclear Chemistry Helped the English Professor (or, Using Nuclear Chemistry to Study Antique Watermarks)."
Presented jointly by the American Chemical Society of Puget Sound and the Bellevue Community College Science Department, the lecture begins at 6 p.m. in room 201 of the college’s N Building (located at the south end of BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, off 148th Ave. S.E.).
Dr. Hassell’s non-technical presentation will discuss how and why beta-radiography is used to study antique watermarks, which otherwise are quite difficult to study and compare.
