SPECIFIC APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE
NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
The application period for the nuclear medicine technology program opens Dec. 1 and closes Feb. 28 for the class starting the following fall. Applications are not available until Dec. 1, so please don't ask until that date.
Applications may be obtained by contacting the Radiologic Science and Imaging office. You may pick up an application in the office (B243 on the main BCC campus), request an application by phone (425-564-2316) or send an e-mail to imagingprograms@bcc.ctc.edu. Be sure to include your name and mailing address. Applications are not available electronically.
Your completed application packet must include the following:
A completed Radiologic Sciences and Imaging programs application.
An application to Bellevue Community College (unless you are a current BCC student).
Transcripts from all colleges you have attended.
A personal statement indicating why you are interested in becoming a nuclear medicine technologist.
A resume.
A reference letter from an employer (not from a college professor unless you were employed by that person).
The program requires two interviews.
The first interview is with the program director and will occur in February or early March.
The second interview is with the program's clinical supervisors and will occur in the evening toward the end of March (usually the BCC spring break week).
Not everyone who gets a first interview will get a second interview.
A minimum of two observations are required for the nuclear medicine technology program and should be completed prior to the first interview.
Click here to get the observation form.
You should observe in at least two sites, one of which is a major clinical site for the nuclear medicine technology program. Those sites and contact information are on the observation sheet. Three hours is about a maximum for any one visit.
If you are from somewhere other than the Puget Sound area, please do one or more observations in your own area. The required observation at a program clinical site can be done at the time of the second interview.
Bring the completed observation form with you to the first interview, which can occur anytime after your application has been received.
Before submitting your application, please be sure you have complied with all of the program requirements, including:
Course prerequisites
Checklist of required items (see above)
$40 application fee
