RN Refresher Program

Our RN refresher program is for registered nurses who have not been actively practicing, have been working in nursing positions other than acute care, or need to reactivate their Washington State licensure.

Please note that this means we are not an NCLEX-RN preparation program. If you desire to take the NCLEX-RN and have already completed either the ADN Program, or other nursing schooling you will need to contact the Washington State Department of Health for more information on how to prepare for the NCLEX-RN

Content in the program includes up-to-date information on:

  • The nursing process
  • Pharmacology
  • Ethics and legal issues
  • Mental health assessment
  • The pathophysiology and management of common medical-surgical conditions

Other topics include:

  • Pain management
  • Nutrition and hydration
  • Oncology
  • Pediatric assessment

The skills review and clinical practicum provide opportunities to refresh nursing skills and to work with an instructor in an adult acute care setting. BC is a Washington State approved refresher program.

The RN Refresher program will be offered Spring 2016. This program will have on campus, in the classroom theory.
