How do I qualify for Low Emission Fuel Efficient Parking?
Bellevue College uses the US Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay Elite standard as the qualification for Low Emission Fuel Efficient Vehicle (LEFE) Parking space use at the college.
If your vehicle meets the EPA SmartWay Elite standard, you qualify for a LEFE parking permit.
What is the SmartWay Elite EPA standard?
SmartWay is a designation earned by those vehicles that have combined Air Pollution and Greenhouse Gas Scores that place them in the top tier (approximately the top 20%) of environmentally responsible performers.
SmartWay Elite is reserved for the best of the best (for more information see: “About the Ratings”).
How do I know if my vehicle is SmartWay Elite qualified?
- Go to the US EPA Green Vehicle Guide and find the rightmost box labeled, “Look up Greenest Vehicles”.
- Mark the checkbox SmartWay Elite
- Select the, “Year” of your vehicle
- In the state field, select, “All States”
- Press Submit
Only SmartWay Elite vehicles (not SmartWay) qualify, so make sure to click the checkbox labeled, SmartWay Elite before searching.
Where can I get a Low Emission Fuel Efficient (LEFE) parking permit?
LEFE parking permits are available at K100, during normal business hours, Monday through Friday.
Do I need anything besides the LEFE permit to park on campus?
Yes. You must have a current Student or Employee parking permit that is valid during the quarter you apply for LEFE parking.
For how long is an LEFE parking permit valid?
LEFE parking permits are good for the entire quarter.
What are the benefits of a Low Emission Fuel Efficient (LEFE) parking permit?
There are first come, first served parking stalls reserved for LEFE vehicles in the parking garage.
Where is LEFE parking located?
LEFE parking is available on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors of the Parking Garage.
