How are YOU going to get to BC this Fall?

Bellevue College and the Office of Sustainability are proud to offer many transportation related programs to help make your commute easier.

Transportation Assistance

Hopelink and Bellevue College are offering 15 minute one-on-one Transportation Assistance sessions beginning with New Student Orientation on September 12th. Whether you are a new student (welcome!) or just tired of driving alone, sitting in traffic, and paying for parking passes (really, why are you still putting up with it?), you are welcome to schedule an appointment at C106 or at transportation@bellevuecollege.edu, or drop in to one of our Transportation Assistance locations to learn about the wealth of different commuting options that await you.

Transportation Assistance volunteers will work with you to plan a safe, efficient, affordable commute. This can include looking at bus routes, bike-friendly routes, and exploring carpool and vanpool options.

Transportation Assistance sessions will also equip you with different tools that will make your commute and other travels easier. Many of these tools can be found on our ‘getting here’ website. They include apps like OneBusAway, trip planning tools by Metro, and interactive maps like Google Maps or King County’s bike map.

BC RideMatch

With BC RideMatch, you can save time and money while making new friends! This Fall we’ve got not one but TWO prizes for using our RideMatch site!

First, with “Try BC RideMatch and Win!” you will receive a $25 cash card by simply creating a BC RideMatch account using your BC email address, and creating a RideMatch trip. More than 200 prizes are available through October 4th 2013, so don’t delay! Register today!

Second, “BC RideMatch and Park Free” will reward BC RideMatch users with a FREE parking permit for completing a trip-match and contacting their match to form a carpool. The carpool match confirmation email can then be forwarded to transportation@bellevuecollege.edu, or printed and brought to the PALS Center C106 desk along with both student names and ID numbers. Prizes are available only while supplies last through October 4th.

ALL FREE PARKING PASSES FOR THE FALL 2013 QUARTER HAVE BEEN GIVEN AWAY! THANK YOU.

TransitChek for ORCA

Bellevue College students who are registered for 5 credits can purchase a $120 TransitChek for only $60. Students registered for 10 or more credits have the option of purchasing a $240 TransitChek for $120. The value on the TransitChek card can then be loaded to an ORCA card online or at an ORCA kiosk. TransitCheks and $5 ORCA cards are available at the cashier the week prior to the first day of the quarter, and while supplies last.

ORCA To-Go

For the first two days of classes, from 9am to 2pm, ORCA will have a bus parked in the BC commons area in front of the C building. Here you can buy an ORCA card, load the value from your TransitChek to the ORCA card, or buy a Reduced Fare card. If you plan on buying a youth, senior, or disability card, please plan to bring appropriate ID and proof of eligibility. Email transportation@bellevuecollege.edu for more information.

New Student Orientations

The Office of Sustainability will have a table dedicated to Transportation at the New Student Orientation on Thursday, September 12th, and at the ISP Orientation on Friday, September 13th. Stop by for more information on any of our programs, or helpful print resources on taking the bus, biking, and ridesharing!

Transportation Office in the PALS Center C106
