Want to Earn $100? Research sustainability in your course – See details

Students of
non-sustainability courses can earn $100 for applying concepts of sustainability in new and creative ways.

What is it?

Sustainability grows in the marketplace; however, many courses lack space for sustainability concepts in syllabi. Driven students occasionally use open-ended assignments for learning about sustainability, and the Sustainable Assignment Grant awards students who go the extra mile. It explores the various applications of BC courses to real-world problems.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Students identify an assignment that is worth 10% or more of their final grade;
  2. Students download the application form and ask for faculty consent;
  3. Students submit applications, complete their assignment, and report to Office of Sustainability regarding their final grade.

What are the requirements?

  • The assignment must be worth 10% or more of the final grade;
  • Students must receive a C- or better;
  • Only 60 students will be accepted for Spring Quarter.

For the Spring 2013 Quarter, the application period is open from April 1st through May 15th. The completed, graded assignment must be turned in by June 21st.
