Stormwater Chaser Internship Opportunity

The Washington Environmental Council has an opportunity for a Stormwater Chaser Intern.

Resource Media and the Washington Environmental Council work closely together to promote the use of rain gardens and other green stormwater infrastructure throughout the region to address polluted runoff- the number one unaddressed water pollution problem facing Puget Sound.

The Intern will help develop and implement a “heavy rain media response plan” to take advantage of the next big rain. They will help write blog posts and other content generation around the green infrastructure installations already in the ground “performing when they need to most.” This will require outreach and coordination with the businesses, homeowners, community groups and public employees that own/oversee the green infrastructure installations to capture photos, video etc. – plus, we would need to be prepared to document heavy flooding, puddling etc. to make a stark contrast between the “good” and the “bad.” If appropriate, the Intern may contribute to press outreach: drafting op-eds and editorial board memos.

For more information on the intern opportunity and how to apply see this Stormwater Chaser Internship 2014.
