Fall 2015 Social Justice Events

There are great events and programs scheduled this Fall Quarter at Bellevue College.

Bellevue College is an open access institution, and practices a mission to provide education to all students who seek it. Inviting and retaining students requires that Bellevue College address the emerging challenges that limit the futures of the student population.

Departments and programs at Bellevue College are continuously responding to the needs of the student-body. As an educational institution, the College possesses the means to empower students to understand to and address those issues as they enter the workforce. Coursework and programs are designed for students to prepare students for the road that lies ahead.

Outside of the classroom, departments and programs at Bellevue College offer events and programs designed to educate and engage students on a range of issues. All these programs hope to educate student on equity, economics, and environmental sustainability. These programs promote social justice, and reflect the dynamic and interconnected solutions to wicked problems.

Defending Your Voice: Teaching Soldiers How to Tell Their Stories with Shawn WongSoldiers must learn to tell their stories, and they must use a variety of narration techniques. Wong will discuss what he has learned about this process, and how communities and soldiers might learn to share, hear and understand the stories of our veterans.
