Fall Sustainability Series is On!

Wednesday, Oct. 4

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We will be going on a FREE field trip to the Seattle Aquarium for a “behind the scenes” tour of the aquarium and their energy and conservation efforts! Following the aquarium, we will be visit Conduit Coffee to check out their roastery and see how coffee can be sustainable with a bike delivery program. This is a really cool opportunity not available to the public!

Thursday, Oct. 12

This is Health, Wellness, and Sustainability Day at Homecoming! We have a lot of great events happening:

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The BikeMobile by BikeWorks has returned! Get your bike fixed up for free (labor included, some parts may be extra). They will also have some bikes for sale! This will be in the C Courtyard.

 

Two Bike Works Volunteers are working on a bike that is on a bike stand. A Bike Works banner is in the background.

Produce Stand will be on campus. Come buy some healthy, local, fresh, and organic fruits and vegetables (Cash Only please). All produce comes from local company Charlie’s produce, and we might have a bit from the BC Student Garden as well! This will be in C Courtyard or in C Cafe, weather dependent.

 

2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

We are holding a Sustainability Social! Come chat with like-minded individuals, meet friends, and learn about environmental and sustainability focused transfer programs from UW and WWU, as well as jobs in the field!

We will have a food tasting and speaker from Homegrown Sandwich shop, a sustainability focused organization. All welcome, food is for attendees only.

We will be going on a FREE field trip to Snoqualmie Falls, for a behind the scenes look at how the falls are used to generate power! Not open to the public, this is a unique opportunity to get a closer look at the beautiful falls and how they create green power.
