As a 21st century teacher, how do you keep up with children and families of the digital age? 91.4 million people in the United States own a smart phone. 35% of Adults in the United States own a tablet and 90% of households in the United States own a computer. This seminar will provide information on the many helpful technology tools available to early childhood teachers of today, with demonstrations as well as opportunities to try out and practice. We will have some discussion on tools that can be used to supplement instruction, to use for communicating with parents, and for documentation and assessment. Participants may choose to bring (but not required) their smartphone, tablet, or laptop to try out some of the tools as they are presented. (Wifi will be available). Only basic computer skills needed – come learn some new technology tools!
Siyen Emmert is an experienced ECE trainer and college instructor.
She is owner of Early Education Training Source, providing training and consultation services to ECE professionals and organizations in Washington State. She also has many years of experience as a children’s teacher and center director and is a DEL approved MERIT trainer.
