The
BCC Planetarium was the first major planetarium in the Puget
Sound area. The facility opened in the early 1970s, thanks to
the support from individuals and the community.

The planetarium is named in honor of Willard Geer, BCC's first
physics instructor. Geer was a driving force in bringing the
planetarium onto the BCC campus.
