ACADEMIC TUTORING 

 

 Fall quarter - 2008

Scheduling will begin the first week of the quarter

Tutoring begins the second week of the quarter

 

Our Services include:

FREE Drop-in & Individual Tutoring

 

  • INDIVIDUAL TUTORING may be available for students with a grade of C or below (instructor approval is required)
  • DROP-IN TUTORING is available in many subjects.  Tutors are available to answer questions and provide assistance for multiple courses in the same subject.
  • PAID TUTOR POSITIONS are available for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Please read the INFO sheet then download and complete the appropriate application and reference forms by clicking on the link provided or clicking the Forms tab above.

                                                             FRIDAY                                     8AM - 3:30PM

                                                             SATURDAY & SUNDAY       11AM - 4PM

    

ACADEMIC TUTORING is located in D204. It is part of the ACADEMIC SUCCESS CENTER which provides academic assistance to students at Bellevue Community College. It includes four facilities: Academic Tutoring, Math Lab, Reading Lab and the Writing Lab.  Come by the facility and check it out.

Drop-in Tutoring:

Any student may attend our FREE drop-in tutoring sessions in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Spanish, French, Japanese, Para-professional Accounting and the open lab for Business Technical Systems (BTS). The hours and place for each session is found under the Group Tutoring Schedules tab above.

 

Individual Tutoring:

We provide FREE individual tutoring for students who are earning a grade of C or below in their course.  You will be assigned a trained tutor for a maximum of two (2) hours a week throughout the quarter. You must fill out an electronic request form in D204.  Please contact your instructor prior to applying for a tutor; ALL requests are subject to instructor approval based on your grade in the course.

 

Tutor Applications:

If you are interested in becoming an academic tutor, please apply by filling out the application and reference form (see links above).  Follow the instructions carefully and completely, and return your completed packet to the Front Desk in the ASC (D204).  Hiring is done on an on-going basis throughout the academic year.

It is the mission of the Academic Tutoring Center to provide the best resources available to meet the needs of all students registered at Bellevue Community College in academic programs.
