Application Timeline (for class beginning September 2008)
Applications for the Diagnostic Ultrasound Program will be available in the Program Office beginning December 1, 2007. On or after this date, please contact the Program Office (imagingprograms@bcc.ctc.edu or 425.564.2316) to request an application.

Selection Committee reviews applications and makes recommendations for admission. |
May 15, 2008 to May 20, 2008 |
Final Selection Letters go out. |
Minimum Requirements to Apply for Admission
- High School Graduate or GED Scoring 50 or higher
- Prerequisite Courses completed by end of Winter Quarter/Semester 2008
- Math and Science courses completed within last 5 years
- Overall GPA in prerequisite courses 3.2 or higher
- Completed Application submitted by April deadline.
Admission to Diagnostic Ultrasound Program based upon the following:
- GPA (competitive based upon GPA in prerequisites, minimum overall GPA 3.2)
- Health Care Experience:
- Observation (1 point)
- Volunteer work in health care environment (2 points)
- Actual patient care experience (3 points). (License, Certifications, Work Experience, Volunteerism)
- Re-Application Status - (1 point) (positive if re-applying)
- Written and Verbal Communication Skills demonstrating knowledge of the field and role of Sonographer. (Interview and personal statement video will be submitted with application.) (5 points possible)
Final selections will be made through the BCC Diagnostic Ultrasound Selection Committee. Being accepted to BCC and completing required prerequisites does not guarantee or constitute admittance into the Ultrasound Program. Admittance is by selective admission.
Each year, the number of students admitted to the program is based upon clinical site availability for clinical practicum and may vary from year to year.
