Adult Basic Education (ABE)

ABE Math classes help students learn math operations and use math in real situations. In the four different levels, they develop skills to:

  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals, fractions and percents
  • Solve basic algebra and geometry problems

ABE English classes help students improve their reading and writing skills. In the three different levels, they develop skills to:

  • Read articles, short novels, maps, graphs, charts, and other types of writing
  • Write sentences, paragraphs and essays

Adult Basic Education classes are available from the Developmental Education Department.

You may be eligible for free classes if you are receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
