Accessibility Checklist
Use this self-guided checklist to evaluate whether your BCC website is in compliance with minimum accessibility standards. If you have answered “no” to one or more of these questions and aren’t certain how to address the issue, please contact Web Services.

- Do all images contain an ALT attribute with a meaningful description in the source code?
- Do all image maps contain an ALT attribute for each area mapped?
- If an image map does not contain ALT descriptions, are text-equivalents for each link in the map provided?
- Can the page be navigated and understood without images?
- Can the page be navigated and understood if specific colors were not viewable?
- If the page contains text in multiple languages, have you added proper markup to convey the change in language?
- If the page uses cascading style sheets, is it viewable without the style sheets?
- If the page includes server-side image maps, are text equivalents provided for them?
- If any elements are animated or flashing, have you explored ways to convey this information in a non-flashing way?
- Has the site been thoroughly checked for correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling?
- Are all links clearly labeled and easy to navigate?
- If the page includes data in tables did you label the table headers?
- If the data table has two or more logical levels of rows or columns, does it have the appropriate markup to make its data readable?
- If the page uses frames, did you clearly title each frame within the frameset?
- If the page includes an applet or a script, are text equivalents provided?
- If the page includes visual multimedia elements, have you provided an auditory track that conveys the important visual information?
- If the page includes time-based multimedia, did you synchronize alternative equivalents with the time-based presentation?
