
WHEREAS, founded originally as Bellevue Community College in 1966, Bellevue College has since become the third largest institution of higher education in Washington state, educating over 32,000 students annually; and
WHEREAS, this year marks the 50th anniversary of Bellevue College – an important milestone for this venerable institution; and
WHEREAS, Bellevue College serves many students around our region, including thousands of students who live in Seattle; and
WHEREAS, Bellevue College has had a remarkable history in higher education around Washington State as one of the first higher education institutions serving Eastside residents; and
WHEREAS, Bellevue College offers a collaborative learning environment in a diverse offering of courses ranging from business, architecture, to medical technology, and
WHEREAS, along with many other academic institutions in our state, Bellevue College’s commitment to its students’ pursuit of higher education helps expand opportunity and equity in our state; and
WHEREAS, we wish Bellevue College many more years of success and look forward to seeing what the future holds for this great institution,
