As a class, we will spend the majority of time in group warm-ups, sight-reading and rhythm counting, singing rounds, standards, folk songs, Italian songs (regarded as the best language for the voice), other literature regarded to be good voice-building and you may choose at least one song of your choice to sing as a solo.

We will all have the opportunity to share our voices individually with the group observing the most important point #9 above.

Homework will include memorizing musical terms, and basic musicianship involving simple piano knowledge, note-reading, scale organization and rhythm counting.

You will be expected to purchase some music for study up to $25.00 after we have sampled a few options.  We will have the privilege to work with Sandy Oliver as accompanist who is most helpful and non-judgmental.  Sandy only cares that you try.

Grading will mainly be by progress, participation and attitude.  Grade will be lowered successively after 3 absences.
