Dear BC Community,

As part of our preparation for next year’s search for a permanent college president, the Board of Trustees has requested campus leadership to embark on a project to identify the priorities and values that will guide the College through the next 3-5 years. This essential task will help the Board and BC’s leadership team to focus on what is most important to the campus and the greater community. It will also inform the development of materials and criteria to identify the best presidential candidates to continue moving our College forward.

This project, the BC Priorities Project, is being designed to be broadly inclusive of the needs and perceptions of those within our college community (all of you), those in the local community, and external people and organizations with whom we partner. Leading this effort is a team of four from the College who are dedicated to the principles of informed and inclusive decision-making:

  • Zachary Morgan, PhD | Executive Director of Effectiveness & Research
  • Dennis Curran | Vice President of Administrative Services
  • Brenda Ivelisse, PhD | Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
  • Liz Hollerman | Dean, Institute for Business & Information Technology

Additionally, the College has contracted with Attain Partners to conduct an environmental scan of the external policies, trends, and other factors that may impact our future as an institution of higher education. They will also facilitate and analyze stakeholder and constituent feedback. This feedback will be collected through a wide variety of anonymous and/or confidential methods such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews. Our goal is to solicit a broad spectrum of candid contributions from our internal and external community members

Here is the broad outline of the activities, deliverables, and timeline for the project:

Paramount to this effort is your participation. By sharing your voice at critical points throughout the project, you will contribute to a deeper understanding of where the College is now and where it can and should be in the future. I invite each of you to participate in forthcoming surveys, focus groups, interviews, and other opportunities to provide input, and to encourage others to take part as well

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for your involvement in this important project.
