What can BC do for you?  Regardless of where you come from, BC has amazing resources.  It has caring employees, diverse students, and support waiting to be tailored to your needs.

What advice can you give a student? Always ask questions!  Oftentimes it is so easy to talk yourself out of asking questions.  Whether it be clarifying what an instructor said, utilizing resources offered, or gathering information– you must ask.  I am a firm believer in the saying, “no question is a dumb question.”

Favorite Quotes:

“Everyone is welcome” is drastically different from “we built this with you in mind”. People don’t want to go where they are merely tolerated, they want to go where they are included.

“Black and Third World people are expected to educate white people as to our humanity.  Women are expected to educate men.  Lesbians and gay men are expected to educate the heterosexual world.  The oppressors maintain their position and evade their responsibility for their own actions.  There is a constant drain of energy which might be better used in redefining ourselves and devising realistic scenarios for altering the present and constructing the future.”
