She is the founder of the Medical Assisting Program and previously served as Dean of the Health Sciences, Education, and Wellness Institute (HSEWI). She supports and advises Allied Health faculty and students in navigating the many onboarding requirements to successfully enter into work-based learning (\u201cWBL\u201d) experiences such as externships, field studies and practicums. She holds a Master&#8217;s in Adult Education and is a certified Phlebotomy instructor. She has over 26 years in healthcare. As such, I combine my love of each of these areas into teaching both healthcare and science classes. These classes include general healthcare, medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, pathology, and neurophysiology. I started exactly where our students are starting. I earned a couple of certificates, went on my externship, and was hired at a local facility. In the same quarter, I was offered a job as a Teaching Assistant for the phlebotomy program I completed. She has been employed at a family medicine practice for 12 years practicing all aspects of Medical Assisting and administrative duties.
