The Associate of Applied Science \u2013 Transfer degree (AAS-T), with Allied Health focus; combines<\/strong> any of the Allied Health certificate programs with college based general education requirements and electives in order to achieve an associates degree at Bellevue College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though the degree title includes the term \u201ctransfer\u201d, an AAS-T does NOT<\/strong> guarantee transfer or admittance to a university system. Should you desire direct transfer into a University program, please review that institutions requirements or pursue one of Bellevue Colleges \u201cDTA\u201d degrees, which have direct transferability into several University programs. It is recommended that you speak with an advisor, prior to selecting a degree option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are several advantages to completing the AAS-T degree as part of your program of study. First, degree completion includes several general education requirements which enhance your overall education in areas that may not have been covered in a professional technical program. Second, the degree program offers the ability to explore other areas of interest, or enroll in preparatory courses for future study by appropriately selecting \u201celectives\u201d. Third, degree completion demonstrates to future employers your dedication to healthcare, the ability to complete a more rigorous program, and a desire to move forward in healthcare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The common outline for the Associate of Applied Science \u2013 Transfer, in Allied Health follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. “Major” Requirement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students MUST complete<\/strong> one or more of the Allied Health certificate programs<\/strong>. Note that the minimum<\/strong> required credits for certificates are shown below. The selection of some certificate options may increase the credits required for that certificate. Please see the program pages for specific certificate requirements and options.<\/p>\n\n\n

2. General Education Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students must complete College level general education requirements in five (5) distribution areas, totaling 26 credits.<\/p>\n\n\n

3. Electives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The AAS-T requires a total of 90 credits<\/strong>. Students may need to complete additional courses to satisfy the required 90 credits. Select additional courses from the Allied Health department or General Education\/Distribution areas to meet the degree requirement of 90 credits. Generally, courses may not be applied in more than one area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
