ALDAC Chemical Dependency Awareness Day – Thursday May 29th

From healthcare to our legislative halls in Olympia the topic of drug use and chemical dependency is an ever-present societal reality.  Please join the ALDAC students, faculty and our friends as we explore this multifaceted issue on campus and make efforts to reduce the stigma associated with substance use disorders.




The Neurological Aspects of Substance Use Lecture from 10:30am – 11:20am in N201

Join the ALDAC faculty for a 50-minute presentation regarding the neurological aspects of substance use. Participants will explore the basic communication process of the central nervous system and the physiological adaptation that occurs in response to psychoactive chemicals entering the brain. We will touch on the concepts of Neuroplasticity, Neurogenesis and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor as they apply to this physiological process.

This campus presentation is open to full classes, individual students and interested staff.

Attendance verification will be made available. Faculty, please consider credit for student attendance.


Resource Fair from 11:30am – 2:30pm in the Cafeteria
