How to Apply
The Alcohol/Drug Counseling Program is an open-enrollment program. To get started, you need to:
- Apply to Bellevue College. (ALDAC program does not require students to take the math and english section on their assessment test)
- Contact the Health Sciences, Education Wellness Institute office for an individual advising session.
You can register for classes:
- In our program office (R130)
- By telephone at (425) 564-2012
- By mail (contact our office for instructions)
Note: If you have attended BC previously, but not during the last 4 academic quarters, you will need to re-apply before registering for classes.
Upon registration payment is due within seven calendar days of your registration OR the first day of the quarter, whichever comes first.
Alcohol/Drug Counseling is a self-support program and not eligible for general BC tuition waiver programs. However, you may qualify to receive financial aid. Anyone interested in completing the Alcohol/Drug Counseling Program, regardless of prior academic experience, is encouraged to apply for financial aid.

Late Registration Fees and Payment Policy
If you register on or after the first day of the quarter, course fees are due immediately. If you are dropped from classes for non-payment you will be charged an additional fee (on a space available basis).
Late registration for classes will require a Blue Card during second week of the class. Payment for classes with the Blue Card must be made immediately or students will be dropped the next day for non-payment. Beginning Students registering during the third week of classes will be required to obtain a Red Card. Each card has a specific fee related to late registration; payment must be made immediately or student will be dropped for non-payment.

Payment for courses in the ALDAC program cannot be accepted in the HSEWI office and must be sent directly to the Cashier’s office (B126) either in person or by mail (money order or check made payable to Bellevue College) contact (425) 564-2304 for mailing address and instructions. Students registering online may pay by credit card.
Dropping a Course
In order to drop a course, you must come to the program office (R130) in person. Arrangements for out-of-state or long-distance students may be made by e-mailing the program director. We apologize, but we are prohibited from processing dropped classes over the telephone. Dropped classes will be refunded in accordance with Alcohol Drug Counseling Program refund policy.
Students enrolled in classes meeting weekly or online are entitled to a refund through the first 8% of instructional days of a course (these are college instructional days, not class days). There can be no refunds after this point.
All drops must be reported as soon as possible to our main office in R130 in person prior to receiving a refund. If you drop a class online or through Student Services, you will still need to notify us of the drop.
The college charges a processing fee on all refunds. This fee is not applied to cancelled classes.
