CDP LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

There are 3 components to becoming a licensed CDP.  Two of which can be completed here at Bellevue colleges’ Alcohol & Drug Counseling program.

  • EDUCATION:

Credits to be completed via Certificate of Achievement in Alcohol & Drug Counseling program.  if needed, additional course work can be completed through various programs at Bellevue College.

  • CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY PROFESSIONAL TRAINEE (CDPT) WORK EXPERIENCE HOURS:

This component of the CDP licensing process is completed in a state certified alcohol drug treatment program under the supervision of a qualified CDP supervisor.

  • CERTIFICATION EXAM:

Students graduating from the Alcohol & Drug Counseling program (ALDAC) at Bellevue College may take the NAADAC certification exam prior to the completion of CDPT of work experience hours.

Note: Students graduating from the Alcohol/Drug Counseling Program having completed the requirements for the Certificate of Achievement in Alcohol/Drug Counseling have the privilege of sitting for the NAADAC certification exam. Successful completion of the exam does not meet eligibility requirements for NAADAC certification as a NCAC1 or Washington State Licensure as a Chemical Dependency Professional.
