Set in 1934 amidst the Century of Progress World’s Fair in Chicago, The Water Engine centers on amateur inventor Charlie Lang who has created an engine that runs on distilled water. It could change the world! Ridiculed, dismissed, and threatened lawyers, corporate execs and hit men Charlie won’t give up trying to patent his machine. The play is set in the world of radio drama as we look at the past that has become our future.
