Addendum to Syllabus for English 101J:

 

About in-class assignments:

 

1. In-class assignments, including timed writings and grammar revisions, may only be made up if you make arrangements with me in advance of the class in which assignment to occur.

 

2. In-class assignments must be completed and submitted in class, unless you have made prior arrangements with me.

 

3. I will disregard the lowest grade on in-class grammar revision assignments and double the highest grade.

 

4. Prior to the class in which you complete the grammar revision assignment, you are responsible for

·        reading the assigned chapter(s) in Writers’ Options (please see the course calendar)

·        doing all exercises at the end of the chapter(s),

·        checking your answers from the key at the back of the book,

·        noting places that you have questions, and

·        asking me for clarifications in class during the hours in which we work on the grammar revision assignment.

 

About the due date for Paper 3:

 

Paper 3 will be due on the last day of class, Wednesday August 4, not Monday August 2. Please refer to the course syllabus and calendar at the materials website at http://www.bcc.ctc.edu/artshum/materials.
