{"id":108,"date":"2014-06-09T14:15:48","date_gmt":"2014-06-09T21:15:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/?post_type=staff&#038;p=108"},"modified":"2025-10-19T22:11:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T05:11:32","slug":"art-goss","status":"publish","type":"staff","link":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/staff\/art-goss\/","title":{"rendered":"Art Goss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: black;font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. \u00a0I got hooked on Astronomy when I was 13.\u00a0 That year I &#8220;discovered&#8221; the Perseid Meteor Shower and a few weeks later saw the rings of Saturn through a telescope at the Dayton Museum of Natural History (now the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery).\u00a0 I would eventually become the planetarium director at that museum.\u00a0 I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Physics from Wright State University in Dayton.\u00a0 I moved to Seattle and started teaching at Bellevue College in 1994, and have taught all the astronomy courses and most of the physics courses offered here.\u00a0 I feel very lucky to be teaching at a place that has both a digital planetarium and an observatory.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":84,"featured_media":246,"parent":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-108","staff","type-staff","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/staff\/108","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/staff"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/staff"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/84"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/staff\/108\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":249,"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/staff\/108\/revisions\/249"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/246"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.bellevuecollege.edu\/astronomy\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=108"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
