He had spent the prior 12 seasons as an assistant coach &#8212; most recently as the lead assistant for eight years. During that time Coach Fermon\u2019s responsibilities played an integral role in the success at BC, leading in scouting, game preparation, defensive coordination, player development, and recruiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coach Fermon has deep ties to the Bulldog program. He played for then-coach Jeremy Eggers, now BC athletic director, during the \u201906 and \u201907 seasons. Fermon was a starter on the 2007 team that reached the NWAC Championship game with a 28-4 record. He earned a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Psychology from Central Washington University in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in San Francisco, CA, Coach Fermon attended Bothell High School. He and his wife Kaitlin, and have three children, Jarell (21), Kamari (11), and Naomi (7).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am very excited to announce Marcus Fermon and his family as our new men\u2019s basketball coach to continue the strong tradition of Bellevue College Bulldog basketball. Fermon is a former BC player and an assistant coach at BC for 12 years. Previously, he was at Shoreline CC for two seasons before coming over to Bellevue College. During his time at Shoreline, Coach Foster helped coach the team to a 2017 Northern Region Championship ultimately leading to the #1 seed in the NWAC Championships. His duties include game planning, recruiting, player development as well as helping with any other program needs. Foster was on staff for the 2023 Bellevue College team that won the NWAC Championship as well as the 2022 BC team that finished runner-up. Foster played his high school basketball at West Seattle High School before playing a year at South Puget Sound CC and Shoreline. After competing for two years in the NWAC he signed and moved on to play at Algoma University in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coach Foster also coaches high school AAU club travel basketball during the spring and summer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is truly a privilege to be a part of the men&#8217;s basketball team here at BC. This is a school with a rich athletic tradition, and I am hoping to help continue that trend for years to come. Jordan was recruited by current head coach, Marcus Fermon, and played for the Bulldogs from 2015-2017 under both coach Fermon and then-Head Coach, now Athletic Director, Jeremy Eggers. During his time at Bellevue, Jordan earned NWAC All-Defensive Team and NWAC First Team All-League honors and served as a two-year captain, exemplifying leadership on and off the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After his career at Bellevue, Jordan transferred to Simon Fraser University in the NCAA Division II GNAC conference. At Simon Fraser, he continued to excel, serving as team captain in his senior year and was a key member of one of the most successful teams in the school\u2019s NCAA history, marking the program&#8217;s first-ever appearance in the GNAC playoffs. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from SFU in 2020. Following his collegiate career, Jordan spent the next three years in Vancouver, B.C, coaching youth basketball and fostering the next generation of players as well as coaching high level high school travel teams in Washington the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally from Shoreline, WA, and attending Shorewood High School, Jordan is thrilled to return to the Bellevue program that helped shape his basketball journey.
