The Bellevue men\u2019s and women\u2019s golf teams had traveled to Walla Walla to play in the NWAACC Championship Tournament over the weekend of May 18-20, and faced some of the toughest competition of this season, but for the second consecutive year, the Bellevue women\u2019s golf team captured the NWAACC Women\u2019s Golf title, beating out second place Green River CC by ten strokes. Bellevue freshman Suchada Anusuriya won the tightly-contested Medalist spot beating out Green River\u2019s Madeleine Ottosson in a playoff. The three sophomores on the Bellevue women\u2019s team closed out their Bulldog careers with strong showings as well: Jamie Kirsila, Corey Rois, and Kayce Ogishima, finished 5th, 8th, and 13th, respectively. \u201cThese young women have come a long way during their time at BC,\u201d said coach Kirk Johanson, \u201cand I\u2019m extremely proud of the foundation they have built for our women\u2019s program for the past two seasons.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Bellevue men finished in fifth place as a team behind some surprisingly strong competition from Southwestern Oregon and Green River. Freshman Jack Strickland led the way for the Bulldogs, finishing in a tie for 7th at 149 for two days, followed by Colten Kleis T12, Ryan Maul T21, Brandon Shin T32, Greg Spencer T37, and Eric Frank T41. \u201cWith more than half the men\u2019s team and three out of four of our women\u2019s team completing their sophomore year, we will be in rebuilding mode next season,\u201d said Johanson, \u201cbut I\u2019m looking forward to 2014 and continuing to grow our programs as we will have some great recruits joining us.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
