Within reach for most of the game, and with a lead briefly in the second half, Bellevue College men’s basketball could not gain enough momentum to overtake the undefeated Everett Trojans, losing 91-82 last night.<\/p>\n

Down by only five at halftime, 42-37, the Bulldogs shot at an impressive 47% clip from the field and were perfect from the foul line in the second half. However, the Trojans matched it with even hotter shooting 55% from the field, preventing BC from any type of significant comeback.<\/p>\n

Down for most of the game since tipoff, Bellevue claimed their first lead with 9:07 to go on a shot by Malik Sanchez, putting the ‘dogs up 66-64. After losing momentum again, the Bulldogs fired back as a three-pointer by Tijohn Rodde with 2:50 to play cut the deficit to one, 78-77. From there Everett would pull away with three straight buckets and perfection at the foul line to claim the win for the Trojans.<\/p>\n

Ting Jiao-Jian led BC with 27 points on 11-for-12 shooting.<\/p>\n

Bellevue returns home for their final game at Courter Family Athletic Pavilion Saturday March 2 at 3:00 p.m. vs. Peninsula. The game is a re-scheduled game from earlier in the month that was postponed due to snow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
