The Bellevue College women\u2019s soccer team played two matches this past week against the Tacoma Community College Titans at home and traveling to Eugene, OR to face off against the Titans of Lane Community College.<\/p>\n
In the first match at home on October 6th, the Bulldogs came out aggressively and it paid off as Jaime Lindstrom scored in the 6th minute.\u00a0 Throughout the course of the match, it was \u201ca very physical game with big-time hits\u201d said Coach Sasha Shefts.\u00a0 He was also pleased the team came out with a fast start, keeping the momentum in Bellevue\u2019s favor. <\/p>\n
Jessie Oliver scored a goal in the 15th minute as she seemingly has in every match the Bulldogs have played.\u00a0 Kayla Kasper added to the lead before halftime with a goal at 28 minutes.\u00a0 At game\u2019s end, the Bulldogs finished off a 4-0 victory to put the Titans away.<\/p>\n
On October 9th, Bellevue traveled to Eugene to take on Lane.\u00a0 The Bulldogs were shorthanded as they traveled with only 13 players for the match. <\/p>\n
For most of the game, Bellevue trailed Lane albeit a slim margin of 1-0 due to a Lane goal in the 35th minute.\u00a0 The Bulldogs were able to tie the game in the 85th minute with Brittney Conway\u2019s goal.\u00a0 Said Shefts of the goal; \u201cit was willed in more than anything.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cIt was an emotionally charged game and it created a bonding experience for the girls.\u201d\u00a0 The match ended in a 1-1 tie. <\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the week, the Bulldogs have a 5-1-1 record, good for first place in the west division of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC).\u00a0 Their next two matches are at Green River Community College and Peninsula College on October 13th and 16th.\u00a0 A new coach\u2019s poll will be released on October 13th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
