The first official league win for the Bellevue men’s soccer team is yet to arrive as Highline Community College defeated the Bulldogs 4-1 in the second away game for Bellevue on Wednesday, Oct. 3. As has been true for most of the season, the Bulldogs started the game very aggressive, considerably limiting the attacking attempts of the Thunderbirds. However, at the same time, defensive distractions have also become usual. For this reason, it only took 17 minutes for Highline to score the first goal, quickly followed by another in the 24th minute, for a Highline 2-0 lead.<\/p>\n
During half time, the Bulldogs analyzed the main weaknesses of Highline and returned in the second half to score in the 53rd minute. BC freshman Bryan Forbes got the goal, assisted by sophomore co-captain Yahir Sandoval. Unfortunately, Highline persisted and claimed two more goals in the 59th and 69th minute, closing out the game with a final score Highline 4, Bellevue 1. \u201cThis was one of those games when you work hard and do everything you have to do to win, but the luck was not on our side,\u201d said BC head coach Tao Shen.<\/p>\n
The East Region\u2019s Columbia Basin Hawks came to play at Bellevue College on Saturday, Oct. 6, and left the Bulldogs scoreless in a 3-0 loss. Bellevue was able to hold CBC scoreless until almost half time, but at the 34th minute, the Hawks scored the first goal of the match. Despite Bellevue\u2019s defense holding off CBC until the final minutes of the game, the Bulldogs could not find a score of their own, and lost the match 3-0.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
