Bellevue College\u2019s men\u2019s soccer team played two matches in the past week; against Highline Community College on October 20th\u00a0 and Olympic College on October 23rd.\u00a0 The Bulldogs enjoyed the luxury of playing at home after traveling the past two matches.\u00a0 However, the team only came away with one victory.<\/p>\n
In their first match against Highline, the Bulldogs found themselves digging out of a hole early on.\u00a0 The Thunderbirds scored early (10\u2019) and the score remained 1-0 for much of the game.\u00a0 From Head Coach Sasha Shefts\u2019 vantage, the team \u201cunfortunately did not play together well.\u201d\u00a0 Highline added another goal towards the end (87\u2019) and Bellevue\u2019s Sean Keegan responded right away with a goal of his own (88\u2019).\u00a0 That was as close as the Bulldogs would get as the game ended in a 2-1 loss for Bellevue.\u00a0 Prior to the loss, Bellevue was coming off six straight wins dating back to September 18th .<\/p>\n
The Bulldogs\u2019 losing streak did not last long as they bounced right back three days later against Olympic.\u00a0 Similar to recent wins, Bellevue scored early within the first ten minutes as Race Sciabica got things going at minute 9.\u00a0 Captain Josh Strasser scored again in the 41st minute giving the Bulldogs a 2-1 halftime lead. <\/p>\n
In the second half, RJ Sorenson (64\u2019) and Luiggi Montero (83\u2019) scored to cap off the Bulldogs\u2019 offense in the game to seal a 4-2 win. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe team played much better together this time around, said Shefts.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the week\u2019s matches completed, Bellevue is in second place in the West Region of the NWAACC with a 7-3-0 record in league play.\u00a0 Bellevue\u2019s next match is at Tacoma Community College on Wednesday October 27th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
