Bellevue College men’s basketball had to fight off a stingy host Highline College team in a 64-58 win. After jumping out to a 38-29 halftime lead, the T-Birds’ defense clamped down outrebounding BC 24-19, caused 10 Bellevue turnovers, and generated eight steals in their comeback efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Up by as much as 13 points early on in the second half, Highline whittled the lead down to four with just under seven minutes to play on a layup by Jacob LaBounty. Bellevue answered with a quick bucket by Daniel Thomas to keep Highline from getting any closer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bellevue’s defense then shutdown Highline’s offense, keeping the T-Birds scoreless for a key three minute stretch as BC lengthened the lead to nine with a little over two minutes to play. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aydan Janssan had a solid night for Bellevue dumping in 14 points along with 11 rebounds and five assists. Fellow sophomore Bishop Tosi had a team-high 13 rebounds for the ‘dogs as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
