Bellevue College men’s basketball lost 81-62 to host Edmonds in a game that was defined by cold shooting from the perimeter all night long by the Bulldogs. Bellevue took 48 of their 76 field shot attempts from beyond the three-point arc but converted only six-for-48; good for only 13% as the Tritons used it to coast to victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first half set the tone of what the game would like as BC was four-for-25 from three-point range while Edmonds was five-for-nine. The Tritons opted to stay within close range and led 41-34 at halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the second half matters got worse for Bellevue as the ‘dogs cashed in on only two-for-23 from long range for 9%. The cold shooting resulted in essentially a replay of the first half instead of a momentum swing as the Tritons extended the lead with a 40-28 second half scoring margin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bellevue was led by two players off the benchas Sayerr Senghore was six-for-eight from the field with seven rebounds and a team-high 15 points while Brian Caldera had 14 points and six rebounds for the ‘dogs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The game was one of many pivotoal matchups in the deep North Region which has five teams with over 10 wins at the start of league play. Bellevue moves to 0-2 in league play after a nine-game win streak to close out pre-season and is now 10-6 overall.
