After a hot first half, the Bellevue College men’s basketball team went cold in the second, falling 81-76 to Peninsula in Port Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bulldogs held a commanding 47-33 lead at halftime, but the Pirates came out and took momentum as BC could only muster 29 points in the second half while Peninsula put up 48. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the first half, Bellevue flipped a seven point deficit, down 17-10 into the 14 point lead at halftime. The 21-point swing appeared to be an early sign that Bellevue would run away before the misfortunes in the second half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peninsula’s Mikey Medlock led the Pirates comeback with a scoring spree midway through the second half to bring the Pirates to within two, 56-54 with 13:42 left. Medlock then drained a big three-pointer with 2:31 left to give Peninsula some space wit ha 76-69 seven point lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Owen Moriarty and Bishop Tosi had 20 and 19 points respectively to lead the ‘dogs. Peninsula, the second-ranked team in the NWAC, ran its record to 21-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in North Region play and extended their win streak to 14 games. The loss puts BC at 4-4 in league play (14-8 overall) and remain in a gridlock with Everett, Skagit Valley, and Olympic for the last two post season playoff spots.
