Bellevue College volleyball won a back-and-forth thriller at Edmonds in five sets Seaview Gymnasium, taking down the Tritons 28-26, 17-25, 23-25, 25-20. 17-15. The ‘dogs, down 2-1 heading into set four rallied to take the next two sets in a tradeoff win on the home team’s court, as the Tritons topped Bellevue back on Sept. 20 in a previous five-set nail-biting match. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the first set, Bellevue appeared to be out of it on several occasions, down 16-10, 16-21, and set point 20-24, but stormed back on all three occasions. With the opening set on the line, two critical Edmonds mistakes in addition to a pair of big-time kills from BC freshman Jessi Mahler tied it up at 24-24. Emma Heywood and Jeanice Gamez then delivered swings to put it away in the comeback opening-set win. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In set four, Bellevue had four service aces in addition to a hit percentage of .300 in a decisive win that tied it up at 2-2 heading into the fifth set. Edmonds jumped ahead 7-2 as BC lost it’s hot hand offensively before Gamez pounded home two kills along with Annie Goetze delivering in a critical three-point swing from 6-9 to 9-9. The freshman Goetze would continue the surge down the stretch delivering an ace and two more kills to lead the miracle comeback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bellevue is now tied with Edmonds in first place with identical 6-1 records. The Bulldogs have two home matches next week on Wednesday Oct. 18 and Friday Oct. 20 vs. Shoreline and Olympic respectively. First serve in both matches is set for 7 p.m. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
