Bellevue College women’s basketball fell 80-46 at Peninsula in a game that was decided early on. With only seven players healthy, Bellevue trailed 20-11 after the first quarter as Peninsula shot a scorching 67% from the field. The second quarter was even more challenging as the Pirates made nearly everything they threw up, converting on nine-of-13 from the field and four-of-five from three point range. Bellevue could only counter with a 13% shooting clip, going for three-point goals in an attempt to cut into the lead but were 0-for-8 from long range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Down 44-18 at halftime, the ‘dogs still could not find a way to defend as Peninsula drained eight-of-10, making 80% from the field in the third. They shot 100% from three point range and at the free throw line, missing only two total shot attempts in the quarter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pirates finally cooled off in the fourth as BC outscored the Pirates 17-15. Marishka Boris had all five of her points in the game during the fourth. Mary Davis led Bellevue with 13 points.
