Bellevue College men’s basketball, after a sluggish start, had an offensive surge in the second half but fell 81-70 to host Edmonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bulldogs buried themselves in the first half, down 40-25 at intermission, shooting 37% from the field on 30 attempts; 16 of which were from three-point range. BC connected on only three of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bellevue was beaten underneath early on as the Tritons outrebounded BC 22-12 in the first half. The dogs often found themselves with one and done possessions on the night, throwing up 32 out of 66 shots from three-point range. Josiah Johnson found his touch in the second half on four-of-seven from three-point range with 20 of his 24 points and five rebounds in the final half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Down by as much as 16 early in the second half, 44-28, the Bulldogs made a charge and cut the lead to seven at 51-44 on a steal by Darius Williams and free throw by Jamison Carlisle. The Tritons would extend the lead back out to 13 before Johnson nailed a three-pointer to bring BC back to within seven at 74-67 with 2:34 to go but could get no closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logan Stempniak had 21points to supplement Johnson. The loss drops Bellevue to 2-4 in North Region play (13-8 overall). They host Skagit Valley, who lost their second game tonight after starting the year off 16-0, Wed. Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
