Bellevue College baseball’s annual team award winners have been announced with six new winners from this year’s club, which recently ended it’s season appearing in their 40th NWAC Championship tournament. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryker Fortier, one of the lone returning starters in the field, took home MVP honors. Fortier played nearly every game for two years and missed only a few this past spring due to a shoulder injury. Fortier, who has committed to play at Montana State-Billings next year, was a catalyst offensively and made several highlight plays defensively at shortstop. <\/p>\n\n\n

Another eastern Washington product, Jackson May, won Gold Glove for his consistent play and incredible range in center field. May had a 1.000 fielding percentage this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gabe Villaflor, a transfer from the University of Portland, was named the prestigious winner of the Paul Villiott Most Inspirational Award. One of the highest honors, the award is given annually to the player who’s teammates feel is the greatest role model of being the best teammate and motivates others through his hard work on and off the field.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bryan Sfanos was a landslide winner for the Silver Bat Award, given to the top hitter. Sfanos was the sole Bellevue representative on the all-NWAC team, earning second team honors in the outfield hitting .306 and was 25 for 26 in stolen bases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R’Mani Adams was named Most Improved in a hotly contested vote off in which nine other Bulldogs received votes. Adams went from a relief pitcher who pitched sparingly as a freshman to starter with several key outings this spring including the Super Regional title at Umpqua. Adams is committed to pitch at Arizona Christian University, which recently competed in the NAIA World Series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Micah Hagler, who led Bellevue with over 88 innings pitched and a 2.00 ERA was named Most Valuable Pitcher. He and fellow freshman sensation Tristan Aasland anchored a young pitching staff that returns will lead next season’s veteran-heavy 2025 team with 21 of 29 returners. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
