Bellevue College men’s soccer showed early signs that they expect to compete with the best tied with top-ranked Peninsula 2-2 at halftime, but fell short in a Pirate 5-3 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an aggressive first half by both teams’ offense, fifteen total shots got off with Bellevue getting seven while Peninsula eight. Bellevue had Peninsula momentarily stunned jumping out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Bruno Cascante and Derek Johnson just 22 minutes into the game. The Pirates would battle back tying it with three minutes to go before halftime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the second half, Bellevue again took the lead on a Harry Powell goal at the 50:27 mark. The offensive spree then turned Peninsula’s way with a tying goal at 60:30 followed by two late goals near the end of play to give Peninsula the home win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pirates kept the pressure on Bellevue ‘keeper Mason Duarte all day, getting 12 shots on goal in the game while outshooting BC 12-5 in the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bellevue falls into fourth place in the North Region at 3-3 (4-4 overall). They travel to Edmonds next Wed. Oct. 9 for a 2 p.m. kickoff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
